Eric Scherer at New Wave Sailing is an experienced sailor, coaches, and consultant with a wealth of knowledge and expertise in the world of sailing.

We are committed to ensuring that our clients receive top-notch guidance and support to enhance their sailing skills and achieve their goals on and off the water.

With a teaching degree specializing in primary education and extensive sailing experience spanning a wide range of vessels, Eric Scherer brings a diverse skill set to New Wave Sailing. His coaching expertise encompasses various classes, including Optimists, 29ers, 420er, ILCA, catamarans, and keelboats. As a sailor, Eric has sailed on foiling boats and served as Crew Manager and tactician on a high-performance catamaran (28ft). Additionally, he has had the privilege of crewing in various teams ranging from 30 to 76ft, providing invaluable insight into different sailing dynamics and strategies.

Eric's involvement in the sailing community extends beyond coaching and crewing roles. As the ex Vice-President for the Quant23-Class, he played a pivotal role in shaping the direction of competitive sailing initiatives. Furthermore, his experience in drone operations, social media management, and marketing allows him to leverage modern tools and platforms to promote the sport of sailing and engage with enthusiasts worldwide.

In terms of sailing achievements, Eric has had the honor of winning prestigious events such as the Dubai Race Week and participating in renowned competitions including the Rolex Giraglia and Rolex Swan Cup multiple times. As a Swiss Team-Race Champion in 2010 and a participant in the RedBull Foiling Generation in 2016, he has consistently demonstrated his prowess on the water and his commitment to pushing the boundaries of competitive sailing.

This breadth of experience and these notable achievements further enhance Eric's ability to offer comprehensive guidance and support to clients at New Wave Sailing, ensuring they receive tailored solutions to meet their specific sailing goals.
