2025 was a defining year for New Wave Sailing, marked by international success, program development, and continued growth both on and off the water.

One of the season’s key highlights was coaching the Zurich 29er Team through a demanding international campaign. The program opened with a regatta win at the Swiss Points Regatta on Lake Como, Italy, before moving directly to Carnon, France, for the 29er EuroCup. In Carnon, New Wave Sailing coached seven teams competing in a highly competitive fleet of 111 teams, achieving a strong Top-10 overall result at EuroCup level. The campaign showcased consistent performance, adaptability, and focused preparation across multiple venues and racing formats.

Another major milestone was the launch of a new 29er summer sailing program at Severn Sailing Association in Annapolis, USA. Transitioning from a traditional Club 420 structure to a 29er-based program provided valuable insights into youth development pathways. The experience once again confirmed that the 29er is not only a high-performance platform for sailors with world-level ambitions, but also an excellent boat for youth sailors focused on skill development, teamwork, and long-term progression — even without pursuing international championships.

Alongside coaching, 2025 also included several competitive regattas sailed as an athlete, all meeting or exceeding performance objectives, either through overall victories or success within the targeted categories. Remaining actively involved in racing continues to strengthen coaching decisions, performance analysis, and on-water communication.

New Wave Sailing would like to extend sincere thanks to Zürcher Yacht Club and SSTR5, Yacht Club Zug as my home club, Severn Sailing Association as my summer employer, and — most importantly — the teams and parents who place their trust in New Wave Sailing throughout the season.

Looking ahead to 2026, the focus will increasingly shift toward the United States while maintaining a strong presence in Europe. Several exciting projects and programs are already in development.

See you in 2026 — exciting times ahead.
